Children and Young People's Unit
The Children and Young People's Unit (CYPU) is revising its funding guidance as a result of an issue raised by a volunteer working for the Rural Community Council. In future the CYPU will make it clear that volunteers' childcare costs are eligible for claims under the Local Network Fund.
This came about when the CYPU saw the Compact code on volunteering. It is a good example of the way the Compact can stimulate improvements to the quality of service delivery and help the two sectors work together.
West Norfolk Age Concern
‘The NorfolkCOMPACT was
very helpful in our discussions with the Borough Council when we were
negotiating our core funding.’

Mancroft Advice Project
‘We have found the Norfolk Compact really useful in negotiating
a particular Service Level Agreement with a Statutory Sector funder, and
in the maintenance of that piece of work.’
Cal Cannon, Director
Norfolk Rural Community Council
‘I waved the Compact at a meeting where several Local Authorities
were present and got the project’s management fee properly reflected
in the budget.’
Geoffrey Leigh, Development Manager
